Below is a description of the accessible features of the hotel in its public and guest room spaces.

Accessibility in Public Spaces

  • The entrance, lobby and public spaces on the ground floor are accessible through the front door.
  • All event spaces are accessible via guest and service elevators.
  • Guest rooms can be easily accessed through guest and service elevators.
  • Public bathrooms located on the 16th floor are handicapped equipped and have adequate sizing to accommodate a wheel chair.  Accessible grab bars also available
  • The Winthrop Beach Inn & Suites has a wheelchair available upon request 
  • Portable hearing impaired emergency system 
  • Hallway and Exit doors are re-entry access

Accessibility in Guest Room Spaces

  • Wide doors to allow easy access in guest rooms 
  • Fold out seat in shower available upon request 
  • Grab bars in ADA bathrooms 
  • ADA height light switches and towel racks 
  • Television  enabled with closed caption

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The Winthrop Beach Inn & Suites contains WCAG 2.0 level AA conforming functionality. Conforming functionality means that efforts were taking during the development of the website to follow WCAG standards.
